Volunteer and Community Involvement
It is important to us at Grace Lutheran to help our brothers and sisters in Christ whenever we can. So, in addition to our FINK service nights, our youth, parents, and teachers, are involved with various community events throughout the year. These events include: Loaves and Fishes; God's Work, Our Hands; and collecting and building mac & cheese towers for the food pantry to name a few.
The youth group has done yard clean-up for local families who need assistance in preparing for winter. The last two Octobers, we have helped organize and hold a Trunk or Treat event with SOTC. This event provides a safe and fun environment for kids and their families to celebrate All Hallows’ Eve.
We have been involved with a few different Christmas outreach programs such as, Salvation Army Christmas family trees, which help families in our community receive gifts who may otherwise not receive any. This year, our youth participated in Operation Christmas Child, which is worldwide. The program helps spread the word of Jesus through children receiving shoe boxes full of things they need and want along with lessons of Jesus. ELCA Good Gifts, which is also worldwide, is another ministry we have collected funds for, so families in need can purchase animals that provide them goods such as milk, honey, eggs and meat.
