Worship at Grace
Why should we gather together to worship?
“To gather with God’s people in united adoration of the Father is as necessary to the Christian life as prayer.” Martin Luther
When we gather together to worship, we learn what God is doing in the lives of others. We encourage one another. We learn of the needs of others and how to pray for one another. We recharge our minds and souls for the coming week.
Grace offers two services every Sunday beginning with the second Sunday in September through the Sunday before Memorial Day weekend. Our 8:15 A.M. service is contemporary in style and the 10:45 A.M. service is traditional in style.
During the summer months from Memorial Day Sunday through Labor Day Sunday, we worship every Sunday at 9:00 A.M. This service is a combination of contemporary and traditional styles.
Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday at all worship services. We practice open communion. All are welcome at the table.
Children are welcome at all of our worship services.

Cross Perspectives
Calling all thespians! Believe it or not, Lent will soon be upon us. This year for our Lenten midweek series we will be focusing on different themes that will be “brought to life” for us by the characters of the crucifixion. Each week we will hear about the events surrounding Jesus’ death from the perspective of a different eye-witness. The perspectives of these various people will serve as a way for us to reflect on issues that we encounter in daily life.
In order to accomplish this in the most creative way possible, we would like to ask for your help. We arelooking to have several members of Grace to act out monologues as the reflection portion of the midweek services. Pastor Dan will do one of the weeks, so we are looking for up to four volunteers who are willing to tap into their creative acting side. The monologues for the characterwill be prepared for you. You will simply need to rehearse and present one week on Wednesday evening. Of course, if you are feeling extra groovy you can also come up with your own costume to aid your performance. If you are interested in joining Pastor Dan on the Crucifixion Cast, please be in touch with him or Carol in the office so that Pastor Dan can be in touch with you regarding further details.
We will follow a similar pattern to what we have the past several years on Wednesday evenings. We will begin with a supper provided by various groups here at Grace followed by a Cross-generational study focusing on the theme of the evening. We will conclude our evenings with a brief worship service, which is where we will hear one of the perspectives presented by a member of the Crucifixion Cast.
So mark your calendars for Wednesday evenings starting with February 26, which is Ash Wednesday. Our Ash Wednesday service will be at 6:30. The following week will begin our five-week Lenten series: Cross Perspectives. Stay tuned for coming details about Holy Week and Easter!
